LETTERS of INTENT TECHNIQUE
Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.Mahatma Gandhi -
Letters of Intent are almost identical to commanding/ordaining except that they are used for things that require alot more detail to create, such as a new job, a home or apartment, a relationship and so on. This is the method that I first began using when becoming a conscious creator of my own life. What I did was write a letter with a title, describing my new job or apartment in exact detail for what I wanted, such as location, pay, office, type of co-workers/neighbors, and so on. And then I read them out loud whenever I felt the desire or need.
Same rules apply as with affirmations and commanding/ordaining:
1. Read completed letters out loud.
2. Use present tense only - stating it as though you already have or are what you want.
3. Use positive words only. Any negative words such as, "not", "no", "never", etc. can have a negating effect.
4. Incorporate positive feelings by conjuring the feelings of how you will feel once you do have what you want.
Here's a real-life example for a job I created 8 years ago when I still lived in California. I wrote myself a letter describing my ideal job, including everything that was important to me at that time, and it went something like this (pulling from memory here):
**
Letter of Intent for My New Job
I am working at a new job that is a unique position and something new for me. I am making $xx per hour and I have my own office with my name on the door. I am working for a medium-sized company with a personable, casual environment. I am very good at what I do and I am highly respected. This is a permanent position.
**
Now how this manifested is quite interesting. I had applied at a temp agency months before creating this Letter of Intent and was not getting any results (I asked for too much pay, etc.). But shortly after I created and read this letter, I received a call from the temp agency saying they just received a new position from a medium sized company, and that it was a brand new position in their company that they were testing out temporarily and it would go to permanent if it worked out. So I went on the interview and was hired. It was for a buyer position, something I'd never done before nor had the company had an official buyer before.
Pay started lower than what was in my letter, but within 3 months, I made the position substantial and did such a great job that they hired me permanently and raised my pay to the amount in my letter. I had my own office, with my name on the door. There were 100 employees here (mid-size company), and it was so personable and casual that we had bi-weekly barbecues, played softball together and lots of other fun stuff. It manifested in accord with my Letter of Intent, to the "T"!
